Hi there.

I'm a recent convert from the Windows world, and am lov'in the Mac.

I am trying to find a remote desktop solution that works for me, but am struggling. I haven't installed any VNC server yet other than the standard Apple remote desktop (which is VNC based), but a feature I am missing is the ability to not send your desktop background to the client as it is extremly bandwidth intensive to do so. I don't think VNC supports this like MS remote desktop protocol does. Am I correct?

If so, (and this just struck me) - is it possible to do some automation to use a keystroke to swap in a plain white background? I could then use another keystroke to restore my previous graphical desktop when I arrive home... That would work well.

Is anybody able to assist with that, at least in theory as I haven't attempted any automation type of stuff yet.

Thanks!
