Are Remote Desktop Clients fast and reliable enough to get actual work done? Such as Office, or something else?

It all the depends on your internet connection. If you are at home with fast internet and want to remotely get to your work PC or something then it works great i think. If you are at a hotel where everyone and their mother are using the wireless and you are trying to remotely log in to your home PC or something, it might be too laggy to work on. If you are looking for a client, i suggest LogMeIn. Free and no complaints from
myself. I use it daily. If all you need is to work on something that you need Microsoft Office, i really enjoy the Onlive Desktop app. But its only available on the iPad.

Depends on the work. I remote to my PC for simple stuff but anything more complicated than a few clicks isn't so great. If you were in word or something and were doing a ton of typing with a bluetooth keyboard and not a ton of mouse work it might not be so bad.

If your work involves SSH and you have a bluetooth keybard that would work very, very well I feel.

Now if they supported a bluetooth mouse & keyboard just for remote desktop purposes now that would work very very well.
