I have a Windows Server. I can access its desktop via a Windows PC using remote desktop. I can also access the desktop from my iPhone and iPad using iRdesktop.

But so far I've not been able to track down any such remote desktop software that will work on my newly-purchased iMac...

    Advice please!

I was looking into getting a windows itunes server myself, and came across a free client from Microsoft a few days ago. Have not tried it or seen any reviews, but it might be worth checking out. Remember i have not tried it, so don't hate me if it's terrible :)

The official Microsoft Remote Desktop client for Mac. I use it all the time. It works fine.

RDP for the Mac, available from MSFT. Works fantastic and was the one app that allowed me to go all Mac! :D

Yes RDC works well, I find it uses way too much RAM though

I use TeamViewer, which is free for personal use and works with Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Ubuntu, iPhone, iPad, etc. It's very secure and quite simple to set up and use (no messing around with ports), which comes in handy if providing remote support to those who aren't very computer literate. You can talk them through the setup on their end and be connected to them in less than a minute. I prefer it over LogMeIn because it includes free file transfers between computers, a feature I use frequently.

TeamViewer or Chicken of the VNC if you wanna do a VNC connection.

I don't think that argument is valid anymore, because Microsoft updated the RDP app in the MAS some time ago to fix memory leak issues.

I use the Microsoft RDP app from the App Store at work. It works pretty well.
