I am a director of A/V at Covenant Seminary and I am investigating replacing our SSD recording devices with Mac Mini's. We have pro sound running in all our classrooms and would use a PreSonus Firebox to bring the audio into the Mini. My question is:

Will I be able to use Remote Desktop to remotely control the Mini to begin recording using Audacity? Is this ability built in, or would I have to create a script?

I am really understaffed, so I am looking for ways to record our content with as few man hours as possible. This looked to be a possible solution, but I dont see anything on Apple's website that clearly states this sort of thing is possible. Any thoughts?

Not sure what would best fit your needs, but 2 approaches come to mind.

There is "back to my mac" which allows you to remotely control computers - part of mobile me.

There is also Apple Remote Desktop software - this is more of a professional application for IT admin.

Edit: there are also several other VNC programs that will allow this also.
