Ran a search on a problem I'm having…
Just create a disk image on your source computer. Mount the image on your MBA and you should bypass all that nonsense.
Ooh, interesting. I'll try that, thanks.
Use VLC instead of DVD Player to play the VIDEO_TS folder on the remote disc and select the option "Treat as a pipe rather than as a file"
I was actually just trying to access the disk in the first place. Merely clicking on it threw that error.
i tried but nothing happened. any idea why?
Disc Utility didn't allow the option to create an image of my CD. Frown.
I actually got it to work on my MBA, with Mac Mini as shared remote disc drive.
In VLC, i selected Open File (instead of Open Disc), and selected the remote DVD and.. walaaa!
Fantastic! Many thanks - I'd been trying to work out how to do this.
Why do Apple make it so difficult? I clearly own the disc or I wouldn't be able to load it in my iMac.
