Just a heads-up...I've been using WifiSMS to view and send SMS from my web browser on my laptop via my iphone (they have to be on the same wifi network) for a long time. But the dev hasn't really been updating it, and it doesn't have imessage support. I don't really mind that as I have my phone in a dock on my desk so I can read imessage texts on there and reply via normal SMS. But I can see why it might be annoying.

There's a new app on Cydia called Remote Messages, costs $5. It replicates the functions of WifiSMS with a slightly different UI, but apparently has iMessage and attachment support. I'm happy enough with WifiSMS not to buy, but I'd be interested to hear what people think of it. Haven't seen any reviews yet.

I just bought it and it seems to work. I liked WiFiSMS's UI much better though and the fact that it showed contact pics and had larger boxes for each contact. Hopefully the author will update the GUI.

I also like the fact that it has password protection which I don't believe wifisms had, in case somebody stumbles across your ip address you have some privacy.

Thanks, I bought it and its working well. Password protection is good, but I agree with you about the UI, really could do with showing contact pictures and timestamps in the contact list. And the SBSettings toggle doesn't work at the moment.

However the forum's quite active and it looks like it's going to be updated far more regularly than WifiSMS, dev has already said he'll sort the toggle issue in the next build and add contact pictures within the next few. So definite recommend from me...

The latest update to Remote Messages (1.1) fixes the broken SBSettings toggle, enables sounds, adds contact pictures and allows changing the font. IMO its now much better than WifiSMS. Well worth the $5.
