Charged my remote for a number of hours today and it only charged up to 99%. Rebooted the ATV and still only at 99%. Is this some bug?

I see bugs like this sometimes. Most likely harmless.

If it bothers you, usually draining the device until the battery is completely dead, then charging without taking it off the charger until completely charged fixes it.

IF you don't leave it on the charger for 14 days and not use it it won't ever reach 100%. You can't use it while its charging that last 1% also. You must do this ever month so you get to use your appletv only 2 weeks out of the month.

This is something you'll notice with devices that use small batteries if the manufacturer didn't program 100% to persist longer.

The remote will charge up, stop charging, drain a bit and then eventually start again. Since the battery is 410 mAh it only needs to drop 4.1 mAh to read 99%. Like mentioned, unplugging it and plugging it back in will sometimes restart the charging and get you to 100%.

On devices like laptops, smartphones, and most anything with charging circuitry and software to display battery % manufacturers will program 100% for a larger mAh drop. Using my MBP for example.

It says fully charged, meter reads 100% however if you do the math the battery is actually at 97%.

I wouldn't worry about that 1%

when any Apple battery starts to be in-sufficient like "only charges to 85%" i would start to worry. Battery don't maintain 100% ever.. They do loose charge at some stage in a lifetime as well battery icons can never be approximate due to software variances/checks... (I think) etc..

You'd find this happening more with battery that's been in use longer than a brand new one.

It says 100% know. My ATV 4 is only a year old.
