Remote trackpad unresponsive

Anyone experienced a trackpad that is flakey? I move up and down and the icon pulls a little but selection does not change

If I keep at it the remote suddenly works and selection moves. Same with directional taps. Tapping up sometimes takes multiple taps to move the selection.

Once it starts working it seems responsive for a bit until I stop sliding or tapping.

I have reset the atv bit through the menu and the remote menu/tv and menu/vol up. But neither return the remote to its original behavior

The remote is 75% charged and is plugged in

Only when the battery got low (you can check battery level in the Settings App, but it will generally let you know if it's low with on-screen alerts). Try restarting the Apple TV? Otherwise, check out this article on resetting the remote.
