remote view my MBP

I'm thinking of picking up a 1TB external drive and moving all of my media to it. My main goal is to leave my MBP at home, open up the pictures folder stored on the external drive, and view the pictures on my iPhone. Is this possible? What do I need? I was going to use a cloud service like Bitcasa but they changed their pricing at the last minute so I'm looking for a homemade solution.

Would something like TeamViewer suit your needs? I have TV on my iMac, MBP, iPad, and iPhone. Works great to view my iMac and transfer files when i'm not at home.

Have you tried the FileBrowser app and setting up File Sharing at home, made accessible over WAN??
