    Hi all
How can we make a windows pc/mac machine to wake up from standby/hibernate if one has IP address of respective machine [either on LAN or on internet]?
I think using NSStream this can be accomplished [though not tried] but still then wondering what is the command to use in the stream

    Thanks

Assuming the remote machine has WOL (Wake On LAN) enabled then you need to send it the magic packet.

    Thanks for your quick response

    Code:
    wolcmd 001122334455 10.0.0.2 255.255.255.255
In the above packet what the value 001122334455 represents?

    Thanks

I suspectthat'ss the magic value in the packet. But I'm not about to go and find out. I would have expected you to find out using Google

From the Wikipedia article, with emphasis added:
... As an example, a networked machine running Microsoft Windows and with a program called wolcmd.exe can access resources on a machine connected to the LAN and with MAC address 00:11:22:33:44:55 by invoking a script:
    wolcmd 001122334455 10.0.0.2 255.255.255.255 7
