Most likely depends on how big so you have room to work and how noisy the other tenants are
Yeah, fortunately not a situation I've ever found myself in. My wife has lived in apartments, but I never have. Up until 2018 we rented, but it's always been a house. The last house we rented for 18 years. The one we bought in 2018 is the same square footage as the last one, but it's two story and I have to suspect they were counting all the useless space in the stairway area because not everything fit.

Remote working is a good thing, especially when you have a business or you just don't have time or phyical ability to work full-time. Besides a whole set pof new features can be implemented online, like you transcription services can be ordered and implemented through online, so this is not a problem. And of course running business online can be very interesting and less stressful. So i support that idea

I’ve been working remote since my last promotion. Multitasking is my forte, so I can get things accomplished at home and with work, but I break up the monotony of making sure that I’m not fixated on a screen for eight hours a day. It really helps since I make my own schedule and I‘m my own Supervisor. I do still travel, but it’s more localized, which puts me home at the end of the day.

Funny reading through this thread how many different approaches there are (as well as some common ideas).

For me I used to be 100% office based, but would work extra hours most evenings at home. Then switched to 100% home working. Now it’s about a 50/50 split. My most productive days are my days at home, but the business owner likes me to be in the office to keep an eye on the staff (I’m one of the managers). Still work some evenings and a bit at weekends/holidays.
But that’s my work ethic. Probably why I’m one of the managers.

All our systems are cloud based so as long as I have a machine I’m good to go. That said I use my MBP for work and keep it separate. I have a dedicated home office which I share my 2 x 27” monitors with my home set up (one I bought through work, the other was a gift from work). Separate keyboards and mice.
I take my lunch break at home or in the office. Usually I take a walk and get away from screen time.
Don’t use webcams. But spend a big portion of my day on teams calls and messages as well as email etc.
At the end of the day I manage my own time as well as those who report to me. Doesn’t really matter if I sit next to them or not. I judge their performance on the quality of their work and the time it takes them to get it done.
