Hi, I just buy the new apple tv.. With the remote it come with can I use it to control my iTunes, if so how do i set it up?
 
I'm guessing you have an older MB or a MBP. Recent MacBooks don't have IR interface.
Look under System Preferences 🙂
 
It is under System Prefrences and Security of all places...unpair anything that is already paired.

Then check out this article to Pair it to the laptop.
