Why did Apple remove the ability to upgrade the size of the SSD on all but the top-end 13" MBP model? Is there some technical reason why you couldn't put a 256/512GB SSD in a MBP with a 2.4GHz processor and 4GB of RAM?

The lack of customization options compared to the previous generation will likely lead me to buy refurb or third-party. I have no need for the faster processor or more than 4GB of RAM, yet Apple is forcing me to buy the most expensive 13" model just to get a 512GB drive.

When you give away your OS upgrades for free I guess you have to make up the money somewhere. I would like to know if the drive is user upgradeable or if they've gone the way of the iMac and made it near impossible to get at.
