Hi all. I recently changed from an iPhone to an Android device, and have since sent the iPhone back to AT&T. I had an Airtag that I want to give my wife, but I forgot to remove it from the Find My app on the phone before sending it off. I tried going to the Find My app through icloud.com, but that does not list my Airtag. What other way could I remove this Airtag if I have no access to an iOS device? Every search on Google says it has to be done through an iOS device. I'm guessing my Airtag is now just a waste but I'm hoping it's not. Any advice?

If you're plan is to give it to your wife, I would assume that means she has an IOS device. Make a back up of her phone, then do a factory restore on it, set it up on your account, reset air tag, restore her phone back to her account from the back up.

You can reset the AirTag to factory settings.

Yes, but the AirTag also needs to be removed from the Apple ID too, which the OP doesn’t have access to at the moment. It’s essentially activation locked even if you do the battery thing to reset it.
