remove app from sysbar

How do I remove the 'sound' icon from my sysbar, or anyother app? Still learning the ins and outs of this OS.

Do you mean the menu bar at the top of the screen? Hold down command and click and drag it off.

To remove apps from the dock, hold option and drag it off.

(I just realized the inconsistency of this...)

Actually, all you need for remove apps from the dock is plain old dragging. You don't have to hold down option -

Well if you don't want them off, but in a different order, just hold down command and drag them left and right 😉
