Remove Blue Tethering Bar

Is there anyway to do this without MyWi? Can somebody with MyWi snoop around and figure out how to get rid of the blue tethering bar?
 
Launch MyWi and go to display and change to status bar. Thats as good as your gonna get I believe.

This might be it, make it transparent, put it in the springboard folder, reboot and see if it works.
