Hello all,

the option to enable/disable beta on my Apple TV is no longer these. How do I remove my Apple TV from beta programme?

Bumping again.

tried this and it didn’t work. There is nowhere in the entire settings menu that has a spot for profile.
Apple suggest I plug in a usb c cable and restore to tvOS 13 but macOS no longer has iTunes

*edit*
found out the procedure. But now it says it cannot contact the server. Apple support was no help. I can't turn off beta on the Apple TV. And there is no Feedback app to report issues.....

Apple support basically said I was screwed until tvOS 14 GM comes out. WTF?!??

I'm surprised that doing a restore in iTunes won't bring it back to tvOS 13.

well macOS night longer has iTunes. It uses Finder to connect to back up or restore. My problem is, I can connect to the servers to restore tvOS 13.

I dealt with this same situation years ago. Had both a 4th and 5th generation Apple TV. Ultimately, after talking with the geniuses at an Apple Store, it turned out users cannot downgrade from a beta. And, as stated above, one has to ride the beta out until a GM release comes out. Hence the reason I no longer participate in their Apple TV beta program. Sorry about this. Hopefully in the future Apple will fix this situation.

so all the info on their website about removing beta tvOS is BS?

My issue is.... even after the GM comes out, my ATV will upgrade to the latest beta afterwards.

I turned it on and found tvOS 14 beta was downloaded and installing.

it’s annoying!

As I said above I no longer participate in their beta program. To do this all you have to do is go to Settings > System > Software Updates and turn Get Beta Updates OFF. The only rub here is you might want to continue receiving updates from the current beta program. If so, leave Get Beta Updates ON but turn Automatically Update OFF until you've updated to the next GM build. After which you'll want to turn Get Beta Updates OFF and Automatically Update back ON.

As for Apple talking about removing the beta program from Apple TVs, yeah, I originally called Apple Support and they told me I could remove my 4th generation Apple TV but needed to go to one of their stores being that users will see the infamous cannot connect to servers error message when they try to remove the beta program. Once I got to the store the geniuses there told me that was no longer the case and I just had to ride the beta program out. Which made me quite sad being that the beta program I was using had issues. See this link https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...eta-tvos-it-crashes-the-trailers-app.2191085/ for details. Good luck!

my issue is, the “turn beta updates off” option is missing. Apple service said that was strange. It been this way since the last tvOS 13 beta. If I leave auto updates off I won’t get the latest 14 beta version.

That is strange! Although, I think I remember having the same issue. It's been a while! If memory serves me correctly, I believe I was able to recover the Get Beta Updates toggle by performing a "Reset and Update". But, before you do this be sure to go to Settings > Users and Accounts > iCloud and turn One Home Screen ON so after the reset all your 3rd party apps will automatically install. Note you'll still need to log in to all of them again.

As for leaving auto updates OFF, you are correct hence the reason I said, "The only rub here is you might want to continue receiving updates from the current beta program. Sorry about all this. My Apple TV beta program frustration memories are flooding back right now. And I used to be a QA Engineer at Apple. Go figure!
