I have to send back my macbook to applecare for warranty (keyboard stopped working)

I need my data...plus do they erase everything, or financial data...

I forgot to ask when I called, though I probably should call back again. Sorry if this has been asked before, I searched and couldn't find anything...

    Thanks!

I think they'll need the hard drive to rule out the possibility of a software/driver issue.

Backup and remove your documents. It's not as if they are going to undelete things.

I doubt as it is a software issue since even the power button on the laptop only works intermittently, and the "apple internal trackpad/keyboard" device intermittently gets acquired/lost. Sounds like hardware to me.

I agree it's probably a hardware issue but it's easier to give them the hard drive too, so they don't have an excuse to not fix your problem.

You can always create a new Account in System Profile ->Accounts, and then set this new user as the Automatic Login choice in 'Login Options'. That way, they cannot easily access the Admin profile, and your data, on your machine.

I don't see how they would care about those kind of things...
