Ok, I've asked this way too many times, and perhaps there's a new workout it?

Here's the thing. I'm not trying to delete my @icloud.com email address. however, I would like it to not be my Apple ID. I used to have a @gmail.com, then I lost my marbles and thought "Oh, I wanna be fancy and own an @icloud.com email" well, as we know, it's a really bad email service that's out of sync on mobile devices. So, I replaced it with my original @gmail.com, however, my @icloud.com email has automatically been set as a secondary (alias) address. When I click on the "i" it says "this is an alias for your email dress to your Apple ID"

Now, I'm not asking how do I delete the email (Which I'd love), but my question is, how do I detach it from my contact info? And the @icloud.com is still showing as my primary email in my contact info/iMessage... I'm so mad at myself for ever creating that stupid email, as my Gmail is working great already
