Hello there

Is it possible to hide or remove the following from the sidebar of the Finder:

My Mac thinks it is a PC but it's a TV and when I click on it, nothing happen. Duh!!!

Thanks in advance.

This has worked for me

1. Turn off wi-fi or unplug ethernet cable to terminate network connection

2. Go to Finder Preference and uncheck (disable), Connected Servers and Bonjour Computers

This should reset the Shared list in Finder Sidebar

3. Go to Finder Preference and check (enable), Connected Servers and Bonjour Computers

4. Turn on Wi-Fi or plug in ethernet to re-connect to network

Disconnect your TV from your network. Does this make the item in the sidebar go away?

If so, then the solution is probably to tell your TV to stop advertising itself as a server (if that's possible). I don't know how to do that, but there's probably something about it in whatever the online reference for your model of TV is.

Without knowing your TV model, no one here can look into how to change your TV settings.

If you don't use your network from your TV, then simply disconnecting the network should solve the problem, without needing to look up how to turn off its advertising itself.
