BigBoss has a new app in his beta repo designed to change the behavior of the Fast App Switching task bar. Remove Recents removes applications from the task bar that aren't currently running in the background. For now this pretty much means that only apps with native backgrounding like iPod, Phone, Mail, and Safari will show up there.

My big question is whether apps that use one of the 6 multitasking APIs will continue to show in the task bar; if so, this could be just what many people are looking for.
