I hate to be that person that starts complaining straight away, but has anyone else noticed some features removed in iOS 11. I've only just updated and have annoyingly found that dates in the calendar app don't seem to work with 3D touch anymore. I used to use that feature all the time to 'peek' at what I had in on a certain day. Now i have to touch it and then hit back to return to the normal month view after, there doesn't seem to be any logical reason for removing this. I'm also a bit annoyed at the removal of the 3D gesture for app switching as I used that over the home button double tap.
Anything else people have noticed?

Edit: I got a bit keyboard warrior happy here, just rebooted my phone and the calendar 3D touch is working now *hangs head in shame*. I guess we can still use this thread to discuss any features that have actually been moved or changed like the multitasking gesture....

Compared to iOS 10?

3D Touch multitasking shortcut has been removed.

The Night Shift in the control centre on my iPad.. You can customize controls but can't put back the Night Shift control there...I USE IT EVERY DAY... so everytime I have to go back to Settings>Display>NightShift>Manually Enable Until Tomorrow ?!?
And no, a scheduled night shift doesn't make it for me, sometimes in the afternoon I switch off the lights and need Night Shift, sometimes very late I watch a movie with my girlfriend and I don't want Night Shift that changes the colors,....

DAMN YOU APPLE...

Hold the brightness slider in control Center, it gives you the option for night shift then.

Force Touch or long press the brightness in CC.

As you mentioned, you used to be able to 3D touch the left screen edge on the iPhone to go to the task switcher. Seems like they removed that.

More of a bug, but four-finger swipe up to get to the task switcher on the iPad is not as reliable as it used to be. At least I have to swipe further up to get it to register consistently.
swipe up with one finger from the bottom instead.

Fair enough, but given that the four finger gesture is still supported, it would be nice if it was as reliable as before the update. Curious if anyone else noticed this issue. Pretty sure I'm not imagining things. :)
nah it seems a bit finnicky. I was just trying it with Pages open and it kept accidently zooming into and out of my document a bit before bringing up the switcher.

Definately will be missing 3D touch for multitask! Instead of deleting features, they should have added new ones! 3D touch has still lots of potential, specisy some developers never even think of using it

New ones were added. Not quite sure what there reasoning was for removing this one, aside from perhaps it not being something that most people used and Apple thinking they can repurpose it for something else at some point or not wanting to have it there to potentially interfere with something (like some gestures for iPhone X or something like that).

This is a let down for me, I used that feature lots. Not sure what they gain from removing it...

Sort of an advertisement for iPhone X since they wanna make you think that swiping uo withing a fullscreen or complete screen is the fastest way to multitask

you can’t take advantage of reachability for the notification center, you have to swipe the finger from the top of the screen also when using reachability (iphone 7)

So far I noticed they removed Shared Links in Safari and the App Store Wishlist.

Any chance to get shared links back? Can’t find it in the settings.

What else is missing? (Compared to iOS 10)

I can’t believe they got rid of the wishlist. That backlog was a vital part of my app purchase process.
And with the showcasing fewer apps in ridiculously huge previews it’s almost like Apple wants to control what apps I should see when and buy.

Rip apps that do not get viral and/or Apple’s attention. Ugh.

You used to be able to press the clock at the top of the screen to scroll back to the top of the page you’re looking at. Doesn’t work in iOS 11, I’m guessing the design of the iPhone X has something to do with this

I have always kept very calm about changes in OSX, iOS, whatever.
But the removal of 3D Touch app switching is driving me absolutely, god damned furious.

What the hell?!

Personally, that was one of the most useful 3D Touch functions.
I never double pressed the home button after getting a 6S with 3D Touch; it completely changed how I switched apps.

But now we're all back to the old, slow double press.

Unless you get an iPhone X of course, then app switching is just a tiny swipe away.
Gee, I wonder why Apple removed the handy app switching from their dusty, old iPhone 6-8...

This is just pissing me off too hard. Bastards.

Works for me in Safari on a 7+.

I see a lot of people here upset about 3D Touch the left corner for multitasking is gone but I feel like I’m the only one here who never used it. I’ve tried to use it but it always felt so much slower compare to double pressing the home button. Was I using it wrong?

Before i used to connect AirPods via control center. That option is gone, now I have to go to settings—Bluetooth and then tap the AirPods in My Devices. Is there any other way or is that menu/feature hiding somewhere in new control center? I am using iPad Pro

I think I just found it. Force touch the music widget. When it expands you'll see the airplay button in the upper right. Is that what you need?

Hopefully Apple may re-enable the 3D touch multitasking on future updates. This was really the only feature left out that disappointed me about the update.. I find it interesting that Apple would remove 3D touch features instead of implementing more with each new iOS generation.
