FORMERLY NJ now FL
I Removed public beta 16 and went back to IOS 15 on my iPhone and that is perfectly fine. Now my Apple Watch 7 unpaired and erased and I can't restore it because it still has the Watch Beta on it. So basically my watch is a brick unless I go back to IOS 16 on my phone which I can do since I have a backup but I would prefer not to. Is there any way around this to get my Watch 7 running and paired with my iPhone again ?

I don't think there is any way to go back to last Apple Watch firmware V8 so it is compatible with IOS 15 again, or is there?

Contact Apple Support, they will help if you need to downgrade the Watch. This is something you can’t do by yourself unfortunately

Yep I‘m sure about that, I sent them my S4 some time ago and they downgraded it for me

Oh. You didn’t say I had to send it to them. That ain’t happening. I’ll Just go back to 16 on the phone. 😊 16 was giving me a hard time on 1 app so I figured I’d go back since I have backups but I can live with it. I’m sure the app will be fine in a couple weeks.

Apple support does have the ability to reject the service should you run beta software on it, regardless of local legislation requirement. But it is always worth a try.

Next time, NEVER update watchOS into beta software unless you are really sure what you are doing or don’t mind using beta software until it is released to the public.

Thanks all. Been using the betas for years on phone and watch. Never an issue. There was an issue with just one app that made me want to go back. In the end I just reloaded 16 and all is 99% we’ll again. I will however no longer take watch betas. Lesson learned on Watch OS. :) That being said, Apple IMO should make the watch issue a little more obvious. Googling around I see I’m not alone.

I’m really pissed. This happened to me. Apple didn’t know what to do and replaced my Apple Watch instead, tried to charge me $400. Now I have a series 7 on the way…

A good rule of thumb to remember is that once the Watch is in the beta program, it has to be paired with a phone that is also running some version of that same beta software. There is no way of fixing it if you downgrade your phone outside of sending your watch in to Apple.
