there is a bigger gap between the bottom of the spacebar and the metal subframe than there is at the top.

This is obviously part of the design.

If this is still keeping the OP awake, I've attached photos of my system. It's been abused since launch, but I can't tell if my keys are misaligned, nor do I really care as long as it works when I push it.
