So I watched a video on Instagram (I know, I know…) in which this guy pointed out that if someone steals your iPhone, they can switch on Aeroplane mode from the control centre just by pulling it down, and make it impossible for you to track the phone. He recommended switching off the control centre toggle in the Face & ID Passcode. I did this and got someone to test it (to test if you needed Face ID) and it made no difference. You can still access the Areoplane mode by swiping down from the corner not needing face ID or my passcode. Is there any round this? I know I’m worrying about something that is very unlikely.

With that same setting turned off, control center is not available until the phone is unlocked with either FaceID or entering my passcode on my iPhone, so something weird is going on with your phone.

Also, while you are it, turn off Siri while unlocked. "Siri, turn on airplane mode" may work if you leave that turned on.
