Removing adhesive after removing skin

Lighter fluid does the trick, just don't do it near naked flames etc

There is no adhesive on your iPad , sorry to say but it looks like the silver finish came off your iPad when you peeled the cover off.
There is no fix for this.

Clearly not the case. In OP's OP - it clearly states that they were able to get some off by rubbing it with their hand. And I'm pretty positive the OP would know if its adhesive or not, because it would be sticky. Silver finishing being gone would not be sticky.

My daughters iPad did the same thing , the finish came off with the adhesive.
