Any fix to removing blank playlist on apple watch? When I tried to swipe left on the empty playlist and click removed, I will get this error.

I have already followed their instruction. Even went further to unsync the entire music library and resyncing it.

Using the latest iOS and WatchOS

Yes, I am! On Apple Watch in music and in iPhone playlists I see over a hundred empty playlists. Tried all suggestions in google to get rid but nothing works. A solution to this would be great......

finally! someone having the same issue.

i have already tried to reset my watch. and resync the entire music library from my mac to my phone. still same issue.

I don’t even have an option to sync library on my iPhone. Probably cos I don’t subscribe to Apple Music but I don’t think I should have to subscribe just to get rid of these empty playlists!! There’s just no reason why they should add be there in the first place. Unfortunately one more thing to add to the list of reasons I’m considering leaving the Apple army..... 😪

I only have one playlist loaded on my Apple Watch. My iTunes library is fully synced with my iPhone and I add music to my watch in the normal way.
If I go to the music app on my watch and select ‘on iPhone’, in playlists I see tonnes of blank playlists. If I select ‘library’ the same happens in there. In library if I select ‘downloaded’, in playlists it only shows the one playlist I’ve put in my watch.
No idea what is going on.

Quite confusing what your are saying.

Don’t have to sub to Apple Music to have your own music synced to watch.

And it can be synced via the watch app

When I try to remove the blank playlist, it tells me to sync library on my iPhone and tells me how to do it but when I go into settings and music, there is no option to sync library. I believe if I were subscribed to Apple Music this wouldn’t happen. Anyways, not important.

Just want to get rid of these. Surely Apple being Apple, this either shouldn’t happen or there would be an immediate solution 🤷‍♂️

Also probably wouldn’t happen if all the music in my library had been bought from iTunes. But it’s not, like many others out there, I’m not made of money

Figured it out, finally! Apple watch needs to be connected to the charging dock, both watch and phone connected to WiFi. Swipe left on blank playlist (from watch), select ( ... ). Now you will be given the option to remove and delete. voilà!

doesn't work. the error in the 2nd image will still appear.

Same here. Doesn’t work. Same message.
No option to sync library

Worked for me, Series 6 watch. The blank playlists that appeared on my watch were playlists on iPhone, not from (music/playlists/albums) downloaded to the watch. I was able to remove/delete blank phantom playlists when watch was connected to charging dock.

When you mean charging dock do you mean a separate charger you bought instead of using the charging cable that came with the watch?

seems strange? sounds like no such issue with series 6
I’d rather get a Galaxy watch or nothing at this rate.
I am not sure what's the connection here

So, not entirely sure what changed but I have now got rid of the empty playlists. Having had over 100 of these cluttering my music app, I feel cleansed 😌😌😌😌

Yeah but can’t work it out as I did have well over 100 empty ones. Went to playlists, added about 40ish to my watch, connected to power, then went to library playlists and just started deleting each one from library and worked.
Very pleased, thanks 👍
