Removing the chrome bezel?

Has anyone tried to remove the chrome bezel? Is it easy? I read the instructions on iFixit, but I am uneasy with it.

Some people don't like it getting scratched.

Yes, but you can get bezel blaster or do a matte mod. 😉

Mine is a bit scratched up and it's the only place that is scratched so I want to replace it. Is it easy to get the glass back on without the risk of cracking? Do you have the remove a lot of stuff to remove the bezel?
