I don't believe it can be deleted. However, you can grab the entire "iCloud" section of choices and drag it down as far as you can in the side bar to somewhat get it out of your way.

I see that you have it in "Favorites." I "think" this is only an alias to point to the same Pages folder as the one shown in iCloud. You can click & hold on the one in Favorites and drag it back to the iCloud section. If you drag it back to iCloud and then click the close icon to the right of iCloud, it will close and make it seem like it is "gone" (but actually just hidden)...

There will still be a "row" or entry that shows the word iCloud but you won't see Pages (folder) anymore, unless you click that same arrow to show what is accessible within that iCloud section again.

ah, that won't work since i am not using pages in icloud. here, files saved in the sidebar 'pages' folder are saved in the user library>containers>pages folder.

anyway, annoying that i can't remove it. and thanks for your suggestion!

Strange. I also am not using Pages in iCloud and the Pages entry doesn't show for me under Favorites when using Pages. The ONLY place a dedicated Pages entry shows up in the left sidebar is under the iCloud option... UNLESS I attempt to drag it out of the iCloud section and into favorites... which results in TWO "Pages" entries: one still under iCloud at the other looking exactly as it does in your screenshot...

PagesInSidebar.jpg

To get rid of the (orange folder) one showing in your screenshot, I can grab that entry and drag it back down into the iCloud section of the sidebar (like dropping it on top of the teal folder Pages entry) to end up with ONE Pages entry again (under iCloud- the teal folder one). And if I want it to not show at all down there too, I can click the little down arrow to the right of the word iCloud to close the exposed options of Pages, iCloud Drive and Shared, leaving only the dark gray iCloud word.

i don't have 'icloud' showing in the sidebar at all in a finder window; IF i select 'icloud drive' in finder settings, that appears... but no 'pages' listing (i even tried enabling pages in icloud settings in system settings).

picture 1 is in the finder, picture 2 is in pages save window.

anyway, spending more time on this then i want to, so will live with it. very much appreciate your help!

I might be misunderstanding the problem, but I can simply drag the locations out of the Favorite section and they're gone. As long as I drag it far enough away from the sidebar, I get a little x underneath the location name showing the it will be removed once I release the mouse button.

Here's a screen recording demonstrating this on my machine.

Try waiting a few more seconds before letting go. It takes a couple of seconds so that people don't accidentally remove things from the side bar.

tried that, see the 'x', but, no matter how long i wait, it bounces back into place.

am tempted to delete the folder in containers....

EDIT: and it just gets recreated when i open Pages. so, apple wins... this round... 🙄

This is in Sonoma? I don't even have a folder anywhere on my Mac, running Ventura, called "Pages".
sequoia current beta. & the folder exists only in user library>containers...

EDIT: what's annoying about it is... this saves to a 'secret' location, is 'only' accessible thru the pages app, and can't be (easily) copied or accessed from the finder.

perhaps this will be 'fixed' by sequoia's official release. either way, not critical, i'll just ignore it.
