Any advice on programs or techniques to remove unnecessary files in the system or application layer?

I got a mini and want to max out the capacity to use it as a media hub. I know there are things like local files, etc., but I don't know how to get rid of them. And I am sure there are tons of other things I can remove to free up some gigs.

Thanks in advance for your help

Removing the iDVD folder from the Applications folder might free up quite a bit of space... mind you, you want to use it as a media hub. Depends exactly what you mean by that...

FWIW, right/control clicking on iDVD and showing the package contents, then going to the Resources folder, you can eliminate themes you'll never use, thus dramatically reducing the disk space required while still having iDVD available to you.
