I have an automator script that renames selected file. Last week I accidentely renamed the desktop 'whatever'.

I managed to get my normal Desktop back but the renamed desktop name still appears in 'save as' sheets in the where pull down menu:

it's in the part of the pull down that list the items in the finder sidebar. Any ideas how I can get rid of it? It doesn't seem to be an actual folder anymore so I have no idea where it is.

In the Home folder, make sure it's named properly there. Then try restarting. :)

If it's in the side bar, drag it out and then drag the icon for the desktop back in.

neither of those worked, it wasn't in the sidebar in finder. Just in the save as dialog sidebar.

I fixed it by deleting my pref files.
