I am on Snow Leopard 10.6.8.

Wondering if there's any easy way to rename a folder from within the folder itself? ie. I am in the folder named "AAA" and viewing its content, after checking its content I decide to change the folder's name to "BBB" instead.

Mouse click and keyboard shortcut both are welcome. :D

thanks

What are you two talking about... of course it is possible. Click anywhere in the window not on a file. Command+I. Change the name of the folder.

That is possible too, but what if the Finder window is not large enough to have an empty area to click into? That is a problem I always had when wanting to select no file, but I get around that via CMD+OPTION+A.

You can also command click the highlighted file in the folder. It will do the same thing.

First off, you guys are really quick! I LOVE this forum :D:D:D

CMD+ArrowUp > ENTER > change name > ENTER > CMD+ArrowDown
This is good enough for me. I am used to 3-finger-swipes to go thru folders so didn't know CMD+Up can SELECT the folder and that's exactly what I need for the next move "ENTER".

Just FYI, I don't need to go back into the folder again, so that's only two "moves" for me.

This I've tried but since I'm using trackpad but not a mouse, going to the "Name & Extension" text field needs a bit of time. :p A nice and valid way of doing it though!
