I have a desktop and laptop behind a linksys broadband wireless router and am having odd issues with the laptop that connects wirelessly. Rendezvous will pick up machines from out on the internet... example i can browse servers and i get about 12 different machines that i assume are broadcasting with rendezvous... they all have internal IPs (ie 192.168.1.*) What I am wondering is why my laptop sees these machines while connecting wirelessly but if i connect it wired I dont see any? Anyone have an idea of whats going on? The WAP is configured to only accept the mac address of my wireless card so i know other people arent connected to my network, besides im in a small town and doubt if 12 people even know what wireless networking is.

is the firmware updated on your router? i had a d-link router that would create ghost machines (i had a similar mac filter but the router still showed 3 or for extra computers). i updated the firmware and it seemed to get rid of the problem. i really dont know though if rendezvous saw the ghost computers or not b/c i dont do much with rendezvous.
