The dark areas make reading a little bit impossible, and the grey sidebar would be a step back to the nineties.
They will possibly keep it in the already present colour scheme.

Also what does the HDD icon mean on the bottom of the Finder?

It's the Path Bar. Turn it on.. it is very useful.

Thanks, I completely forgot about it since Tiger or Panther maybe?

I hope it's useful for me.

It was a new feature introduced with Leopard.

    Sure?

Wasn't there a way tho show the current path in Finder before Leopard?

I seem to vaguely remember such feature, but it was a long time ago since I used it.

I'm getting to old for this clot.

There was a 3rd party addon that displayed the equivalent of the Windows address bar at the top of Finder windows.

The Path Bar was new to Leopard.

    Yes, that may be it.

Thanks for clarifying that. It's over 18 months now since I stopped using Tiger, except at work, so what the hell.

    Back to the topic.

    Sorry Jongewehr for hijacking it.

But shouldn't that Path Bar point to Macintosh HD (or whatever volume a user is on) > Users > user ?

You don't need an add on to show the path in the window title...

So it shows the path to the file your searching? Like Macintosh HD/User/Music/Metallica/And Justice For All.../One ?? Very useful if it does

I don't really like the color scheme.

By the way OP, you blocked your user name from the sidebar, but left it in the title bar.

Can you not see the limitations of yours? Try using the Path Bar and you'll understand why. (e.g. drag n drop for one).

I don't get it. What exactly is different?

    Was this made in Paint?

I don't really care how useful the Path Bar is, I do pretty much everything with mv.

Urgh, the left side looks like the horrible Windows explorer window in Vista/7.

I don't see any difference between this "mockup" and the current finder from OS 10.5, except that this one is hideously ugly. It looks akin to what leopard would look like if run in CGA 64-color mode, with 6 glorious bits of video fun.

Not really. I was just letting you know since it looked like you took the effort to block it in the sidebar.

Reminds me of the Hi-Tech theme for OS 9.

I really dislike it a lot. It is too dark for me. And the blue doesn't go with it at all.

It is "flat," unlike the current one which looks a bit rounded.

Rather than messing around with colour schemes, Apple need to find a good way of exposing the power of spotlight to make our lives easier.

Sort of like leap but with better performance.

Searching is a mess at the moment, yet it could be easy and instantaneous.
