Repair disc on 17" iMac

When I bought the iMac it had Tiger installed. I am now using Snowleopard. My questions is: If I want to do a disc repair, can I use the Snowleopard install disc or do I have to go way back and use the Tiger install disc?

Use the SL disk

Well there is DiskWarrior or Drive Genius. You could use one of these.
