ill try to keep this as short as possible...

i brought my 2017 touch bar 13in macbook pro in last monday because i felt that my battery was terrible and i was right, after having it only 6 months it was already being diagnosed to fail soon. They kept it and "sent it out" and said id receive a call in 3-5 days.

Its been a week and nothing, i checked the status online and since last wednesday it still says repair in progress. i called friday and all the guy on the phone told me that it was...still in progress.. had no additional info.

I'm on hold right now to push for more info. but has anyone here had this issue and how long did it take to get your laptop back?

It took me two days from dropping mine off to getting it back (in the mail on a Saturday). Battery + Screen Replacement (delamination).

Not sure what's going on in your case, that kind of turnaround isn't really acceptable.

Curious, did you take it into an actual Apple store? Or did you take it to an authorized Apple reseller? Either way, I would contact the manager and find out what's going on. Or call Apple direct and talk to them, have them give you a status.

Today would be the 5th day - doesn't count weekends.

i took it to the apple store directly.

i made a genius bar appointment and they ran the tests, filed the paper work and packed it up in front of me within 20 minutes.

i spoke to a supervisor and he said he flagged it for a rush and would contact me tomorrow. despite his efforts i still find this time to be ridiculous. and i’m not even getting it back tomorrow. i’m just getting more detailed news.
