Repair or Replacement More Likely?

I've had my MacBook Pro now for almost 2 years (with AppleCare) and have had quite a few repairs already:

  • HDD replaced
  • SuperDrive replaced
  • Battery replaced twice

Now, I'm having issues with the SuperDrive again. Is it likely that Apple will just give me a completely new MBP after all these issues, or are they more likely to just fix the drive again?

AppleCare follows a Repair, Repair, Repair, Replace (with current model) mantra.

Wait until next Friday and try your luck! :D

They don't always follow that mantra, I went through:

Repair, repair, repair, repair, repair and now I'm out of AppleCare. At least the graphic now has two years warranty.

You often need to write a letter or complain to get a replacement. I got it after three repairs with a Rev A iMac but only after writing them a firm letter

*shudder* I remember Rev A Macs now, makes me think twice about wanting to buy a new macbook on Tuesday..

Depends on your people skillz. I got a replacement the first time I went in for a repair:)

You mean the haggling skills right? I have people skills, but also have a moral conscience. Plus I don't want to screw myself as a shareholder.

I really do hope they give me a replacement and not repair the drive. I think after the number of problems I've had, a replacement would make more sense.
