iPod touch Repair status-no problem found!?

I just got off of the phone with an apple technical support representative after seeing that my repair status read, "no problem found","shipping original product". This burned me, I know I have the negative-blacks, glittery screen issue (It gives me headaches). The representative contacted a specialist to find out more info. on my iPod Touch, she said that they, "hooked it up to the tester and upgraded your iPod with the latest firmware and software" (hmm...I thought I had already done that). From what she said, this isn't the same software/firmware that is being distributed through iTunes at this time, and that she is certain my issue will be fixed (really?! even the dead pixels??) I'm calling B.S.

Did anyone else run into this situation? Should I just take it to an Apple store?

please help me.

well wait till you get it and see is my advice. And tell us if it is 1.1.2 or whatever the next one is, and whether you can add/edit calendar events.

You should have just done this in the first place. Why cause yourself un-needed aggravation?
The nearest apple store for me is 2 hours away...which takes a time that I dont have. I thought for sure I would get a replacement seeing how this was such a common problem. But I will definitely wait and see how it turns out and will let you guys know. Here is to hoping that this so called "firmware/software update" DOES fix the screen issues and doesnt affect me being able to jailbreak it again.

Yeah, they did the same with mine so I took it and exchanged it at the Apple Store.

Their repair center sucks.

Can't offer help, but I'm in a similar situation with my MacBook.

THe Apple Reseller tech. guy has returned my MacBook saying they can find no cause for the fault(s), so I'm sh*t outta luck. Annoyingly they don't say there's no fault, they acknowledge the MacBook's acting strange and overheating/not sleeping, they just can't figure out why??:mad:

Even more annoying is I've emailed Apple twice and they can't even be arsed to reply. C*nts.

I ran into this same problem. My iPt has 5 dead pixels on the screen. I sent it into the repair center and they said the exact same thing. So then I drove 4+ hours round trip to my nearest apple store to see what they would say. They told me that they would replace it. HOWEVER, I had mine personalized. They told me that I would have to send it in to have it replaced. I explained that I had already done so and they said, well, the only other thing I can think of is wait until the mad rush for the product is up (after the holiday's) and then try to send it in again and see what they say... it kinda sucks... but we will see what happens... :confused:
