My 2017 MBP died while it was asleep and apparently now needs a new logic board. Seems like a reasonably common issue by the other threads. Mine is covered under consumer law by 2 months (mandatory 2 year warranty). I was wondering what is the normal turn around time for a warranty repair? The day I took it in it was listed as being getting items for repair. 7 days later it is still showing the same status and has not progressed. Is it normal for a swap in/out of a logic board to take so long? Just wondering if I need to start looking at buying another laptop while waiting for repair.

Should have stated this is in Australia.

In the US I dropped mine off in Apple store on Friday evening off and it was ready on Monday before noon. In Australia? That very much depends on that specific country situation.

In general the repair turn around time is just an estimate. Things like backordered parts can delay the process. Regardless if you really need to you can always buy a new MBP and just return it before the return period ends.
