Get a decent case on it and you’ll be fine. I’d rather Chuck the phone off a bridge and claim on my contents insurance than pay another £200 for Apple to cover it. AC reminds me of the old insurance policies you used to get in Comet and Curry’s.

Least there is an option to pay monthly now here. I have ordered a Rhyno shield bumper so it should have me covered but i get why people do it for peace of mind. I know some insurance companies take longer than others to send you a new phone and the excess is actually a lot more.

Even if you never have to use it, applecare is worth it simply for the peace of mind. There are however cheap 3rd party insurance companies that can be worth looking into depending on where you live.

How much is it monthly? The Apple website doesn’t like to tell you the cost unless you sign in and go through several pages of commitment which makes me think the price is off putting. I know Vodafone tried to sell me a £6 a month cover for accidental damage which I declined.

When you get the phone you can go into settings and it will tell you if it is eligible for AppleCare. Click on that and follow the prompts and you will get the monthly subscription price. Not sure what the 12 will cost but for my 2020 iPhone SE 2020 I pay $8(7.99) for AppleCare+ with theft and loss

Not sure what you mean - they show the monthly cost and full cost right when you’re selecting the option.

I will also fork out the £30 for a Rhinoshield solid suit case for my 12 mini (Maybe royal blue or clay) for that extra protection.
I would also highly recommend ‘ismash‘ to install a tempered glass screen protector for my fellow U.K. forum members. Only costs £15 and they do a professional job with perfect fit and no bubbles at all within 10 mins.

Think it's £8 a month and £4 for the apple watch
