my hard drive is a single hfs+ drive i have about 12gb free space i would like to partition about 8 of the 12 remaining gigs to a separate partition without loosing data
i havnt found any software that shrinks existing partitions
ive tried ipartition, disk studio and volume works they wont shrink the drive just try to make it bigger moving into the 128mb of unpartitond space on the drive
any help i appreciated

thanks

I'm not sure about the software that would do this, but this sounds like an intrinsically bad idea. As soon as you get down to about 4 gigs left on your machine (I'm assuming it's your boot drive), you'll be getting into scratch space, and your computer will likely run like molasses.

yeah i expect that but ive been looking for days and it takes minutes to figure out what to delete so im not worrying about that till after i solve this problem
