Repeated entries in iCal

Hi!

i seem to have this problem lately. All my birthday reminders have ended up with multiple entries in one single day whenever I sync them. Right now for all my birthdays, I have 5 to 6 entries within one single day for the same person. This problem also extends to my address book on my iPhone where every person has 2 entries of the same information.

What can I do to get rid of the multiple entries?
