Sorry, I didn't catch the statement by the OP that ATT doesn't offer the 5s any longer. My carrier still offers the 5s in 16g for $99.95 with a 2 year contract. That was what I was basing my suggestion to go ahead and buy the new 5s etc. on. I agree that in this situation I would just continue to use the current 5s until she has a problem. That's what I get for not thoroughly reading the initial post.
