Hello,

I have an iphone X 256 GB. Battery health is terrible. I had it replaced last year for $29 , and a year later its underperforming again. Battery level is 90%.

Anyways I would like to upgrade to the new Iphone in 2020. What should I do this year to hold me over?

1. Replace battery again on Iphone X - I believe its $70 now.
2. Upgrade to the 11 or 11 Pro ?
3. Buy a used Iphone XR or XS? Then sell my Iphone X
4. Some other option?

Thanks

Just so you know and can make an informative decision.....

Your battery at 90% is still running at peak performance. It’s just not keeping the same amount battery life capacity by 10% as when it was new. Slightly lower battery life span by the end of the day.

To check your battery : Go to “Settings” / “Battery” and tap on “Battery Health”.

Normally its designed to retain up to 80 per cent of its original capacity which is 500 complete charge cycles under normal conditions.

Wait until after tonight’s announcement and see if you’d rather just pay the $70 and save up more for the 2020 models, rather than get a whole new phone.

iPhone X is still a great device and should hold you well into 2020.

ok now with the new announcements...what do i do????

Trade your X for an 11R or 11 Pro is better than buying an XS, unless the XS is 30% off original price or it wouldn’t be worth it now.

Personally I also have an iPhone X and it’s battery life is at 88%. I plan on keeping mine one more year until the iPhone 12 comes out with 5G, 5nm CPU, and back to Qualcomm modems.

Will they replace a battery at 90%? I thought it had to be down to a certain level for them to be willing to do it.

If you absoulutely wanted an 11, the trade in value makes it pretty enticing. You could trade in your X on an 11 under IUP and pay about $14 a month for it. Then you if you wanted the 12 next year, you could upgrade then.

I believe (not sure) that thr threshold is 79% before they replace it for $29.99 otherwise it’s $79.99.

My battery says 90% but the performance is awful. very frustrating. Apple will replace it for 80$
