iPod touch Replace digitizer or LCD for iPod?

I have an iPod touch 2g. The screen works fine and everything, it's just the touch part of it is acting weird.
Do I need to replace only the digitizer, or the LCD?

And what's the best place to buy?

Are you still within warranty? If so, I'd go to the Apple store or service provider and get it fixed.

If out of warranty, consider ebay or ifixit(not sure about this one).

sounds like the digitizer is what needs to be replaced which i heard can be difficult on your own
