I deleted Downloads icon by mistake and later emptied Trash. I know, I know...stupid. How do I restore functionality to the folder I've dragged into right Dock?

I tried this but all I have is an icon with '?' on it that nothing downloads to and an error message telling me that the application cannot be found when I try to open the folder. I tried the stuff with the icon in the 'Get Info' box as well. I emptied the Trash so I need to totally replace the icon and functionality.
