Have disliked the Mac trash icon ever since Mountain Lion and want to replace the Mojave set. Can anyone help me find a complete set of Mountain Lion icons? I believe there are 8 in total that have to be replaced in the dock app resources. I have 4 icon files (trashempty.png, trashempty@2x.png, trashfull.png and trashfull@2x.png)

Have you looked at the Deviant Art page? Look in the Collections section!

Once you have an icon set you like;
1. Disable SIP (temp is OK)
2. Download the Liteicon app; https://freemacsoft.net/liteicon/
That should do it!:cool:
Edited to replace the Devient Art URL

Thanks davidlv. Been AFK for a week so late in replying.
Have the procedure down from previous alterations, and found the icons I liked from other OSes, so am good in that respect. A question I have, though, is that Mojave has a couple of extra icons in the dock resources, titled "trashempty2@2x.png:" and "trashfull2@2x.png." I' presume the @2x designation indicates Retina files, but the 2 preceding the @ sign are is on the files that are dark trash cans. Don't see any place to invoke them as options, but I don't want to use them anyway. Just concerned that if I delete them during the change, something will screw up. Any thoughts?

davidlv's suggestion, using liteIcon is simple-fast and has always worked for me.
No need to manually mess withe the Dock resources whatsoever.

Sorry, I do not know anything about icons. Really. Liteicon just works, gets rid of those glaring default icons and there are many good sets of icons on Devient Art. You can take some from several sets, find some trash icons you like and away you go, just "pass Hamilton and drive off into the distance!" :D:cool::D
