Can someone put me straight on what replacement dvd burner will fit my jan 2008 800mb macbook please? It has the original LG/Hitachi drive in it which like most [according to forums] has died. I'm loath to replace it with the same as so many seemed to have problems. What I cant find from the many forum discussions is what else will fit, and is more reliable! It seems that apple did ultimately use a different drive to avoid the serial swap-ins that they did under warranty, but I cant find out what.
