I use the OS X stickies software to keep notes on a number of things - does anyone know of a replacement that can sync notes to the internet, but displays them in pretty much the same way? I am preparing for a reinstall, and don't want to lost my programs, however I also don't want to lose my stickies!

You can save the stickiesdatabase file. It's in ~/Library and it's just called StickiesDatabase (no extension). You can open it with text editor to verify the contents, but it isn't a text file.

Disclaimer: I don't know for sure that copying over this file will preserve your stickies, but it appears to be the file that stores them.

I do this all the time to transfer Stickies between my machines. I just email myself the file StickiesDatabase and drag it into the Library and replace it. Both my Macs always have the same Stickies. If your doing a reinstall you can use Time Machine
