A few weeks ago my 16gb iPhone 5s got wet and it was done for good. Luckily I have insurance so I was able to order a new one at a low cost. At first I thought the 'replacement' iPhone was a clone, it didn't look right, it didn't look the same. After a couple minutes of inspecting it, I realized that the edges weren't sharp and shiny like the design of the normal iPhone 5s, at the contrary, the edges on this iPhone are smooth and they're don't have that shiny finish, making it stand out from the others. After weeks of useless research on the Internet I decided to come on here and ask if you guys have any ideas or suggestions. If you guys have any questions about the device, please ask.

You replaced under insurance, correct? Not Applecare+?

If so, you can't expect a like new phone. Insurance generally replaces the phone but the fine print usually states something like "comparable parts" or so forth.

A replacement from Apple would be a refurb but Apple actually goes above and beyond what they do for new phones in their QC for refurbs. Insurance may "refurb" it but again, you can't expect the kind of device you'd get from Apple.
